Dangerous freedom
Freedom is a dangerous thing. Like drugs: if you take it in appropriate quantity at appropriate time it can heal you, if you take too much of it, it can kill you. Too much freedom can be detrimental to our health, for example, it can adulterate democracy, turn democratic discussion into a farce, circus as we see now in the US where instead of discussing real global and national issues, the media is full of simple gossip, and presidential candidates are forced to play the role of TV stars. After all, democracy has never succeeded in perpetuating itself, it nearly always sows the seeds of its own destruction, is replaced by authoritarianism or -- a much better alternative -- by meritocracy.
